What Does NPE Stand For?

Understanding NPE
NPE or Export Service Note is proof that export activities have been approved by the Customs and Excise Service and Supervision Office (KPPBC). Export NPE is the final result of a series of licensing applications and becomes a protective document for the goods you export.
Export itself is the activity of sending goods abroad. This activity is included in the Customs Law which is regulated by KPPBC. NPE is issued by KPPBC as proof that it has approved export activities. This NPE is issued manually by customs officers after inspecting the goods.
Types of NPE
There are two types of NPE that are generally used in export activities, namely automatic NPE and manual NPE. The description of each type is below.
1. Automatic NPE
Automatic NPE is issued automatically by the export service computer system (SKP). To be able to get this automatic NPE, there are several considerations that need to be considered, including:
Exported goods must be included in the category of permitted goods
Exported goods have met the requirements for completeness of documents if the goods are included in restricted or prohibited goods. Exported goods have passed the inspection process
If the three stages have been carried out, the export SKP will automatically approve the application for export goods. This is evidenced by the issuance of an NPE with the issue number and date of the Export Notification of Goods (PEB).

2. Manual NPE
A manual NPE is issued after customs officers inspect the export goods. If they pass the inspection, the officer will issue an NPE that is made manually. Previously, the officer will also inspect the goods according to those in the PEB.
Differences Between NPE and PBE
In exporting goods, you may often come across the terms NPE and PBE. These two terms are often considered the same, but actually have very different meanings and functions.
PEB stands for Notification of Export of Goods. This is a customs notification document that is commonly used to notify the export of goods made in writing on a form or electronic data. The form and content of this export customs notification have been stipulated in the Regulation of the Director General of Customs and Excise.
Meanwhile, NPE or Export Service Note is a note issued by a document inspection officer, service computer system or goods inspection officer for the PEB that has been submitted. The purpose of this document is to protect goods that will be exported to the customs area or loaded into a means of transport.
