Take Note, Causes of Unapproved Visa Applications

Corporate Secretary Service Indonesia – Applying for a visa can be said to be “easy to difficult”. While the online visa application system is very convenient for applicants, it does not guarantee that fewer visa applications will be rejected or not approved. Nevertheless, prospective visa applicants need not worry. To minimize the chances of a visa application being rejected or not approved, understand and take note of the following reasons for Dependent Visa or any Visa rejections.

Uploaded Documents are Blurry

The first thing that is very important for visa applicants to note is that the scanned documents must be clearly visible. While it may sound trivial, the scans are very likely to affect the visa approval decision.

The document upload page at visa-online.immigration.go.id states the size and type of documents that can be uploaded. If the applicant experiences problems, such as a compressed scan that looks blurry, it is better to use another scan tool or scanning application. The type of smartphone device used for scanning can also affect the size and clarity of the scan.

Additional Documents Not Completed

Dependent Visa or any Visa application consists of mandatory documents and additional documents. Some people think that uploading additional documents is not important as long as all mandatory documents have been uploaded. This is actually not entirely wrong. However, in some conditions, such as during the Covid-19 Pandemic, there are additional document requirements that are raised according to the rules that apply at that time. In this context, these additional requirements must be completed.

During the Covid-19 Pandemic, there were new immigration regulations issued, which affected the visa application requirements. Therefore, the public is encouraged to keep updated with new rules. We can monitor them on the Directorate General of Immigration’s social media accounts. Some of the additional documents that have been required during the Covid-19 Pandemic include a certificate of complete dose of Covid-19 vaccination, RT PCR test results, a certificate of willingness to quarantine, and others.

Insufficient Passport Validity Period

The next thing that often thwarts visa approval is the validity period of the Foreigner’s passport. Each type of visa has a different period of stay. This certainly affects the requirements for the validity period of a foreigner’s passport. Before applying for a visa, first read the visa stay information and adjust it to the validity period of the passport. Generally, the passport validity period must be at least 6 (six) months longer than the proposed visa stay.

Foreigners with ITAS Holders Have Not Performed EPO/ERP

This issue is one of the most common causes of visa applications being rejected or not approved. Foreigners who have ITAS but cannot be extended, can apply for an onshore visa. But you must first EPO (ERP) at the immigration office. After that, directly apply for a visa by attaching proof of EPO / ERP along with other files.

Wrong Type of Visa Application

The following mistakes generally occur when applying for a family unification limited stay visa (C317). It should be noted that not all family members can apply for C317 Vitas. This visa can only be applied for Foreigners who want to unite themselves with their wife / husband, as well as children with foreign status who want to unite themselves with Indonesian parents or parents holding ITAS / ITITAP.

Only foreigners with parents in a mixed marriage (Indonesian and foreigners) can apply for a family unification visa. If the foreigner is ex-Indonesian and both parents are Indonesian, they cannot apply for a C317 visa. What can be applied for is a C318 Repatriation Visa or a Visit Visa.
