Diaspora Visa applications can be submitted through evisa.immigration.go.id easily and concisely. Diaspora visas are applied for without a guarantor. The application requirements include:

  1. passport with a minimum validity period of 12 (twelve) months;
  2. proof of living expenses;
  3. a color photograph;
  4. a statement of commitment that must be submitted within 90 (ninety) days of arrival, in the form of purchasing Indonesian Government bonds worth, shares / mutual funds in public companies in Indonesia, or savings / deposits worth US$35,000;
  5. documents proving that the Foreigner has been an Indonesian citizen, including an identity card, birth certificate, family card, passport of the Republic of Indonesia, diploma, or certificate.

Some countries that have also implemented visa policies for their diasporas include India, Ireland, and Portugal. The “Overseas Citizen of India” (OCI) program provides several benefits, such as long-term residence permits and the right to own property in India.
