1. TDP (Tanda Daftar Perusahaan) or Company Registration Certificate;
2. API or Angka Pengenal Impor (Import Identification Number) is required for importing goods, and
3. Customs Access Number (NIB or Nomor Izin Berusaha) is required for exporting or importing goods.

The NIB is also considered a replacement license for the TDP (Targeted Importer Registration Certificate), Importer Identification Number, and Customs Identification Number for import customs, simplifying import permit processing.

The introduction of the risk-based NIB streamlines the import license online OSS system processing process, as follows:

• This shortens the timeframe because importers no longer need to apply for an API (Importer Registration Number) and NIK (National Identification Number). However, importers must still verify technical requirements with the authorized official.
• Previously, the API had to be renewed every five years upon expiration, but with the NIB, everything can now be accessed through an OSS account to make changes to company data.
• The OSS RBA system is integrated with the customs and excise system, allowing importers to ensure that customs obligations are met in a single location.
• This system centralizes all permit processing, meaning that the person in charge registered in the OSS system is the sole party authorized and responsible for approving import documents.

How to Obtain an API Through OSS

To obtain an API, importers can follow these steps:

1. Register for a Business Identification Number (NIB) through https://oss.go.id;
2. Once registered, log in to the OSS portal using the previously activated username and password;
3. Fill in your business details, then select the appropriate business sector (KBLI); and
4. Register for an API, selecting API-U or API-P, then continue.
